Polyvore is gone! Find out the best alternatives
As we have reported, the most beloved platform of inspiration and assembly of looks of the Internet closed its doors all of a sudden on April 5. Polyvore was acquired by Montreal-based luxury e-commerce retailer SSENSE and the new owner decided to cease operations of its apps and website immediately, redirecting everyone to SSENSE’s homepage.
Naturally, users got mad and have taken to social media to complain about its abrupt end. The loss of all sets and online friends disappointed this fashion community who could not understand the hostile takeover by SSENSE and the lack of respect for the ones who made the website the success it was.
Right after its closure, a group of members launched a petition to bring Polyvore back. Many Polyvore users are even refusing to shop on SSENSE.
Few days ago, according to a press release from SSENSE, users still have some time to download all their mood boards before they disappear. The community will have access to download their content from their respective official profile by visiting account-update.polyvore.com until May 15, 2018. The apps will no longer be supported.
This is why it is so important to have our own home on the Internet. You never know what will happen in the future with the platforms where we are creating content and having our online space prevents us from losing it.
But don’t worry, there is always a solution! Other companies have stepped forward to offer alternatives to Polyvore users and our team collected the best options.
