Louis Vuitton presents the Vuitton New Runners

Sneakers became the darlings of luxury fashion brands. Louis Vuitton sailed away into this sea of sportswear with its all-knit version that dropped this week: the new Vuitton New Runners.

The luxury fashion house’s new silhouette results from meticulous research and development. It took 12 months of optimization to create an innovative and contemporary model that addresses both active and aesthetic principles.

Made in Italy, the so-called V.N.R. presents a mesh that combines three types of wool to create different textures, and a light and flexible sole.

The knit fabric surrounding the foot provides the same comfort of a sock and the outsole is formed by three different parts, all carefully assembled by hand. There is also a rubber triple V signature on the tongue that represents the brand’s motto: Volez, Voguez, Voyagez (Sail, Fly, Travel). The sophistication is complete with the leather details in the heel zone and a hand-painted gradient on the sole. Finally, the futuristic sneaker weighs a mere 60 grams.
